What is “Growing Together for the One” campaign?
“Growing Together for the One” is a spiritual growth campaign designed to deepen our faith and, prayerfully, result in meaningful financial impact. This six-week emphasis will focus on spiritual growth and unity as we move forward together. As one church in multiple locations, we recognize that we can accomplish far more together than we ever could apart. We are growing together.
This campaign will encourage every person who calls Fincastle Baptist Church home—across all campuses—to understand that everything we do is “For the One.” The emphasis includes both a vertical focus, “For the One” (Jesus), and a horizontal focus, “For the one” (others).
The campaign will launch with Vision Sunday on January 11, and will be supported by coordinated sermons, Connect Group lessons, Kids’ Church curriculum, Student Ministry messages, church-wide prayer events, special meals, and several town hall gatherings. The campaign will culminate with Commitment Day on February 15, when individuals across all campuses will have the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment “For the One.” Finally, we will gather for a special Celebration Sunday on March 1, praising God for the sacrificial generosity of His people at Fincastle Baptist Church.
Why have we decided now is the time to embark on the “Growing Together for the One” campaign?
For several years, church leadership has prayerfully discussed the need to expand facilities at the Fincastle Campus, make improvements to the Highlands Campus, and update our current space while preparing for the relocation of the Rockbridge Campus. After months of focused prayer and seeking God’s perfect timing, we believe the time is now.
In light of the growth we have experienced and continue to experience in Sunday morning worship across all three campuses, the leadership of Fincastle Baptist Church senses God leading us to begin the “Growing Together For the One” initiative now. This step will help ensure we have adequate space to meet current ministry needs while also planning wisely for future opportunities God places before us.
What will the “Growing Together for the One” campaign allow us to do?
If fully funded, the campaign will enable us to move forward with the following plans at each campus:
Fincastle Campus: Due to continued growth in Sunday morning attendance and student ministry, it has become clear that additional parking and a dedicated student facility are needed. To address these needs, we plan to add more than 100 new parking spaces and construct a new two-story, 12,000 – 18.000 square foot Student Center. This facility will be designed with future expansion in mind. As God continues to bless in the years to come, this Student Center will be expanded into a new Worship Center. The new Student Center will include worship space for hundreds of students, classrooms, a café, and both indoor and outdoor recreation areas.
Highlands Campus: While significant progress has been made in recent years, further improvements are needed to ensure the campus provides welcoming and functional facilities “For the One” who is not here yet. Planned updates include new chairs, carpet, and lighting in the worship center; enhanced audio and video capabilities; replacement of windows and doors throughout the building; and much-needed
handicapped accessibility.
Rockbridge Campus: In response to the overall growth of the campus and the need for additional education and office space, this campaign will begin setting aside funds for the eventual relocation of the Rockbridge Campus. Additionally, we plan to update the current worship center and double the existing kid’s space.
