Two Sunday Worship Services at FBC! Begins March 21st, 2010
We will now be offering two services on Sunday morning to relieve the space issues we have at our 10:30 am
service. Below is the new Sunday morning schedule:
- 8:15 am Worship Service
- 9:15 am Sunday School begins for the Nursery, Children and Youth
- 9:15 am Fellowship Time in the chapel for adults
- 9:30 am Sunday School begins for the Adults
- 10:30 am Worship Service

Foundation
Now available..."He Has Been Good" by Foundation. Foundation is a band made up of musicians involved in the Fincastle
Baptist Church Sunday Morning Praise Team and Wednesday Night Worship Team. The CD consists of praise and worship favorites
like Your Name, Better is One Day and Sweeter as well as 9 original songs written by pianist Becky Lancenese. CDs will be

New Classes at the Fincastle Bible Institute
New Core Classes for February & March:
- Discovering Church Membership 101: February 28-March 21, 5:30-6:30pm Led by Pastor Kevin. At this class,
we will be discussing what it means to be a member; how our church is structured; a little bit about the church’s history;
and most importantly, our goals for the future.
- Discovering Your Spiritual Shape (301): February 28-March 21, 5:30-6:30pm Led by Pastor Brian. In this class, we will be
discussing "How to Discover my Ministry, What are Spiritual Gifts, and My Spiritual Heartbeat."
Electives:
- A Man of His Word (Men): Sunday mornings from 8:00-9:00am. Meets in the Chapel. Material
cost: $15. Led by Steve Wise. A study that calls men to integrity and leadership in the
church, at the job, and in the home. Dr. Adrian Rogers, former Pastor of Bellvue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN,
challenges men to live up to the role for which God created them.
- How Now Shall We Live? (Developing a Christian Worldview)
January 10-March 14, 5:30-6:30 pm, meets in Room 17. Material cost: $15. A challenge to the church and
Christians to go beyond salvation. To understand biblical faith as an entire worldview, a perspective
on all life.

"A Woman’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place" Ladies Bible Study
Join us for this in-depth study of the Old Testament Tabernacle by Beth Moore. Taken primarily from the Book of Exodus,
A Women’s Heart will take you on a fascinating journey into why God would chose to live in a wilderness and explores the parallels
between the physical tabernacle and the tabernacle of the human heart. This class is only being offered on Monday
nights, beginning March 1st from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, the cost is $15 and is led by Diane DiPalma.

"A Man Of His Word" Men's Bible Study
It’s not too late to join this study that calls men to integrity and leadership in the church, at the job, and in the
home. Dr. Adrian Rogers, former Pastor of Bellvue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, challenges men to live
up to the role for which God created them. Material cost is $15.

American Sign Language Class
A Sign Language class for adults will be taught at Fincastle Baptist Church starting Thursday, March 4th at 6:30 pm. Also
during this time, a children’s sign language class will take place. If you would like more information or to sign up
for either of these classes, contact Jennifer Porterfield by e-mail or you can

Chicken Pot Pie Dinner Night Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 5:30 pm
Bring the Kids and join us for dinner on Wed., March 17th! We will have an extra special dinner that evening before our
regular services to benefit Li'l Scholars Preschool. Pastor Brian is going to have a Noah's Ark bounce house set up that
night for Kids Klub. It promises to be a great time together!
On the menu will be Lisa Helmick's signature chicken pot pies, salad bar, desserts, and drinks. The cost is the same as our regular
Wednesday night meal:
$4.00 adults
$3.00 children (ages 6-12)
Children ages 0-5 are FREE!
$15.00 maximum per family!
You will also have the opportunity to purchase & take home chicken pies that evening! (Pies will be cash and carry)

Baseball Clinic Sunday, March 14th, 2010
Fincastle Baptist Church has teamed up with the Botetourt Recreation Department to host an Indoor Baseball Clinic, which
provides kids with the basic skills of baseball such as fielding, hitting, throwing and pitching. This clinic will be
lead by Roger White, Atlanta Braves Scout and the baseball staffs of Lord Botetourt and James River High Schools. The
cost of the clinic is $5 and all kids attending will receive a t-shirt. The clinic is for the following age
group at this time:
- Kids ages 9 and 12 from 2:00 pm to 5:00
Registration is now available through the FBC Sports Camps link or go to
the Botetourt County Park & Recreation’s website.
Once you have accessed this website, click on "View or Enroll in an Activity", then click on "Activity Category" at the top of
the page. Choose "Camps/Clinics" and you’ll see the listing for the Fincastle Baptist Baseball Clinic or you can call

Pastor Kevin is coming to ESPN radio!
On March 15th, Pastor Kevin will begin a new radio outreach on ESPN Radio. This one minute daily devotional, which
will air at 8:08 am and 12:08 pm, will use stories from the sports world to teach Biblical principles. The name of the
program is "Take a time out" and can be heard on ESPN Radio on the following stations: 1240 AM Roanoke; 1350 AM Bedford;
1320 AM Lynchburg & 106.3 Danville or streaming live on the web at ESPNinVA.com. You can

Friend Sunday! Sunday, March 21st, 2010 Morning Worship Service
Statistics tell us that 86% of people that come to church to visit for the first time do so because a friend or relative invited
them. Because of this, we are having a special FRIEND DAY emphasis on Sunday, March 21st. Join the church
leadership in asking God to help you REACH out to someone who you consider to be a friend and invite them to church on this special
day. This will also be the first day we will be offering two Sunday services at 8:15 am and 10:30 am.

Scrapbooking Class Friday, March 26th, 2010 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm Chapel
Don’t let those priceless memories set in a box, in your camera or on your computer hard drive unprotected. Come join
the Women’s Ministry for a Scrapbook evening Friday, March 26th from 6:00–11:00 p.m. in the Chapel. This will be a fun
time of fellowship as we preserve our precious family memories. Michelle Adkins, Creative Memories Consultant, will be here
to assist us with any questions or concerns we may have. A light meal will be provided. Please contact

Pre-Easter Service Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 6:30 - 8:00 pm
At this special service, the Choir will present their Easter Musical, the Deacons will speak on the seven last sayings of Jesus
from the Cross and Communion will be served. There will be no Kids Klub or Ignite Youth Group as we will all be together
for this meaningful service. Childcare will be provided for birth - kindergarten.

Easter Egg Hunt! Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 Begins at 2:00 pm
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is coming Saturday April 3rd! Everyone in the community is invited!!
Inflatables and games will open at 2:00 pm. The Easter Egg Hunt begins at 3:00 pm.
