What is the purpose of the Strengthen and Enlarge Campaign?
The purpose of our campaign is to strengthen the Christian walk of each church member and to create additional facilities tha will allow
more members of our community to join us in knowing Christ and learning to follow Him daily.
Our goals are:
1. That the Lord will strengthen us by:
- Our corporate and private study of His Word.
- Knitting us together in regular worship and prayer.
- Filling us with His Spirit for our living and daily witness.
2. That the Lord will, through us, enlarge the facilities used in His work by meeting just one of these goals:
- Paying off the debt on our present building as a prelude to further expansion - $600,000.
- Paying our debt and capitalizing the building fund for future expansion - $900,000.
- Promptly constructing an additional building for the Christian education and worship to be used by children, youth
and adults - $1,800,000.
Why should we begin a process that will expand our facilities?
Jesus Christ is continually sending folks to us for salvation, rededication, and who are beingled to join our fellowship. We
feel compelled to make for children, youth, and adults enough space for them to study in Sunday School and attend worship
services. When it is built, a second building will provide the Sunday School space we need and allow for two morning
worship services even when the present building is set up for Sunday School classes.
How will we accomplish the vision God gives us?
The Strengthen and Enlarge Campaign will be a four week process of prayer, faith, education, and commitment. At the end
of the campaign each of our people will be asked to make a private, sealed, financial pledge designated for the enlargement of our
church facilities. This pledge will be paid over the next three years and is in addition to our regular tithes and
offerings.
We recognize that the Lord will not lead every person to pledge the same amount, but expect that He will lead each of us to make
a sacrificial gift for His work. Our pledges and subsequent gifts will clearly demonstrate how far we may go forward
in reaching folks for Christ.
You can begin by giving a sacrificial offering and your private pledge cards to Strengthen and Enlarge at our Celebrate Sacrifice
Sunday December 14, 2008. In order to affirm our continued commitment to worldwide missions, a tithe of the Strengthen
and Enlarge contributions made on Celebrate Sacrifice Sunday will be designated for the Lottie Moon Missions Offering.
We will begin paying on our three year pledges after January 15th, 2009. A regular weekly or monthly contribution
works best for most people.
